Agentic AI

Agentic AI refers to AI systems that plan multi-step work and take actions through tools toward a goal, usually with constraints and oversight.

How it works

The loop is observe, reason, act, check. Memory and tool results feed the next step. Without evaluation and permissions, agentic demos look smart and production looks risky.

Use agentic patterns when judgement plus side effects are required. Prefer simpler automation when the path is fixed and fully known.

Example

A support agent gathers order state, proposes a refund, and only executes after policy checks and an approver click.
