Model Context Protocol (MCP)

Model Context Protocol (MCP) is a convention for exposing tools and contextual resources to models through structured servers.

How it works

MCP servers publish tools an agent can call with schemas. Least privilege still applies: expose only the tools the job needs. Treat MCP as plumbing, not a strategy.

Example

An agent calls an MCP file tool to read a project brief, then an issue tool to open a ticket with structured fields.
